天然石とビーズを組み合わせ、身につける人にそっと寄り添うアクセサリーを作り続けて13年。今回のゲストは、ハンドメイドアクセサリー作家の「MURIEL.」さん。

一番人気は、冬のドアノブの「バチッ」を軽減する静電気防止ブレスレット。制電性の糸を通常の2倍使い、水に濡れても長く使っても効果は変わりません。「完全に100%防止するものではない」と正直に語りながらも、お客様からは「軽減している」という声が絶えず、リピーターも多数。

もう一つの代表作「積-SEKI-」は、箱根の伝統工芸・寄木細工から着想を得たアクセサリー。異なる色・形のビーズを積み重ねて生まれる調和のデザインに込めたのは、「違いを認め合えたら、世界も調和していくのでは」という願い。色にはそれぞれ意味があり、赤なら情熱・自信・決断力——勝負の日に選ぶ人も多いのだとか。

For 13 years, MURIEL. has been combining natural stone and beads into jewelry that gently stays close to the people who wear it. This week's guest runs the handmade brand MURIEL'S GALLERY.

Her most popular piece is an anti-static bracelet that eases the "zap" of a winter doorknob — made with double the conductive thread, with effects that don't fade even after getting wet or years of wear. She's honest that it doesn't block static 100%, but customers keep reporting real relief, and repeat buyers are common.

Her other signature piece, "積-SEKI-," draws on Hakone's traditional marquetry craft (yosegi). Beads of different colors and shapes are stacked into a harmonious design — a wish that if we can accept our differences, the world can find harmony too. Each color carries meaning; red, for passion and resolve, is a favorite pick before a big challenge.
